Apple release Java update for Leopard

Apple have released Java For Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5 to address a number of security vulnerabilities
According to the security notes, the update brings Java 6 up to version 1.6.0_15, Java 5 up to version 1.5.0_20 and Java 4 up to version 1.4.2_22. Sun released these versions on August 4th for other platforms, so the one month Apple has taken to release this update is at least an improvement over previous long delayed fixes.
Vulnerabilities that have been fixed by this update include a number of arbitrary code execution issues in the handling of Java applets and WebStart applications. Although Sun have since released Java SE 6u16, version 1.6.0_16, on August 11th, it is an update that does not contain security fixes.
Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 5 is available through Mac OS X's built in Software Update mechanism or the 161MB file can be downloaded directly from Apple.
