Whopper Tuesday

10 June 2009
Microsoft Releases Biggest Security Patch Yet Microsoft has gone the way of Burger King and launched a real whopper - a mega-patch which fixes 31 separate vulnerabilities in. This patch is their biggest to date since the "Patch Tuesday" tradition was instituted.

Highlights of the fixed flaws list include a remotely-exploitable vulnerability in Internet Explorer 8 which was disclosed at CanSecWest about two months ago, as well as vulnerabilities in RPC, Active Directory, Excel, Word and Microsoft Works.

No less than four privilege elevation vulnerabilities (only two of which were previously reported publicly) in the Windows Kernel have also been patched.
