Author: Andrei Bereczki

After looking at the past and the present, we can certainly say that rogue software poses a threat to our computers and our privacy.

Bitdefender analysts state that approximately 4 rogue security applications are launched per day, which is quiet and impressive number on a longer timespan.
Information getting stolen, users being fooled into paying for useless services. Rogue antiviruses can even cause loss of data because nothings stopping them from downloading additional malware onto your computer. In order to protect yourself keep following things in mind:

1. First and foremost have legitimate antivirus software installed

2. Do not download software that claims to be free or anything else unless you completely trust the source

3. Do not get fooled of fake video players that require “codecs” and web scanners that pretend to disinfect your computer

4. Always scan your downloads before launching them
